In basketball, a flagrant foul is a serious personal foul. A foul is considered flagrant when it involves violent contact which could injure the fouled player. A flagrant foul may be unintentional or intentional, depending on the level of the flagrant, punishments will be stronger for a higher level. (Their are two levels of flagrant fouls) A level one gives the fouled team two free throws and possession of the ball. A level two foul ejects the fouler, (possibility of suspension) possession of the ball for the fouled team, and two free throws.
